The cat mother and her kitten hold onto each other, relishing their newfound love and a second chance at life, having been rescued from the streets

This sweet cat and her kitten have suffered through many hardships together, but their love for each other has kept their spirits up and now things are finally starting to look up for the pair.

Rosa was living as a stray with her two tiny kittens when she was rescued from the streets of Los Angeles.

Rosa had been spotted roaming the streets for quite some time before she finally got rescued, as the caring mother was wary of humans and had proven to be a very tricky kitty to catch.

But finally, according to Love Meow, a local animal rescuer, Chris, managed to capture Rosa and her babies and with the help of the rescue center Wrenn Rescues, the little family was placed in a foster home.

Jen Marder, who volunteers for Wrenn Rescues, agreed to foster Rosa and her kittens.

Marder took great care of the little family and tried to make the skittish strays felt as safe and welcome as possible in their new home.

She wanted Rosa to be able to relax and trust that she and her kittens were finally safe.

However, despite Marder’s best efforts, things got off to a heart-breaking start. Two weeks after moving in, the smallest kitten passed away.

It was too small and weak to survive and despite receiving treatment it could not be saved.

Rosa was naturally distraught, but instead of giving up hope, she chose to put all her energy into keeping her remaining kitten, King, loved and safe.

The grieving mother clung to her remaining baby and gave him all the love and affection he could possibly need.

And King thrived under his mothers loving care. Her grew bigger and stronger and became a charismatic and playful kitten.

Rosa continued to dote on him as he grew and always made sure he was doing okay.

Sometimes she even forgot to eat because she was so focused on King, but Marder would wake sure to bring her food and water.

While Rosa was doting on King, Marder was doting on Rosa.

And while King grew stronger and rowdier, Rosa’s confidence grew too.

She started trusting Marder and began enjoying her new life. She became friendlier, more social and now she’s a happy and healthy cat.

Rosa’s still keeping a close eye on her energetic little kitten and its obvious that the pair are bonded for life.

“It is one of the sweetest bonds between mama and baby that I have ever seen,” Marder told Love Meow.

Rosa’s and King’s love for each other have gotten them through the dark times and now they are finally safe and able to enjoy life.

They’re now looking for their forever home and hope to be adopted together so they never have to be apart.

We are sure they will find a great family and lead a long and happy life together.
