In the beginning of April, the Friends for Life Rescue Network located in Los Angeles received a cute little kitten. Unfortunately, the kitten’s front legs were bent due to an injury to her ligaments and tendons in her front wrists. According to Jacqueline DeAmore, the founder of the organization, this was the cause of her crooked paws since birth.
Mel Lamprey and her spouse Zane stepped up to assist with an overexposure issue. The adorable Shpulya wasted no time in charming her foster parents and vying for their affection. To aid in the growth of her paws, a recommendation was made for her to undergo physical therapy multiple times per day.
After receiving treatment, the kitten seems to be doing better. According to Jacqueline, the process involves warming up her wrists with a heating pad, massaging them, and stretching them to aid in proper bone growth. The next step involves using splints on a weekly basis to enhance her range of motion. Despite her challenges, the kitten appears unfazed and doesn’t seem to view herself as different from her peers.
Spool is adored by her foster family and is known as the resident hugger. According to Mel, Spool’s foster mom, the playful cat is a silly and curious daddy’s girl who loves hugging her dad tightly with her small paws. After each physiotherapy session, Spool’s dad always gives her a warm embrace that she relishes. As an energetic kitten, Spool loves going on adventures and discovering new places, just like any other feline. She also takes every chance to spend quality time with her foster parents, even when they protest. Despite her raspy meows, Spool’s endearing behavior has won the hearts of her foster family.
This adorable little creature is full of love and affection. She loves snuggling up on her foster dad’s neck, which seems to be her favorite spot to rest. Whenever she finishes a meal, she enjoys being pampered with gentle strokes and being wrapped in a cozy towel. It’s no wonder she falls asleep purring contentedly in the arms of her favorite human.
Mel and Zane had a son named Chester, who they had adopted when he was an adult. Unfortunately, they left him after he was diagnosed with a serious illness. Chester, who had red hair, immediately approached the new woman to get acquainted.
Mel recounts the story of how Chester approached Spool and sat next to her like they’ve known each other for years. The connection between them was immediate and they hit it off right away. It’s clear that Chester has taken on the role of a big brother to Spool and she loves spending time with him. From grooming her fur to taking care of her needs, Chester has become an integral part of Spool’s life. Shpuly’s little one is blessed with huge paws, and when she was first taken into foster care, she weighed just 340 g. But now she’s grown into a beautiful and charming young lady, full of character and love.
Spool recently had her maiden Easter celebration with her foster family, who showered her with immense affection and attention.
