The shelter cat from San Francisco boasts an impressive Instagram following of more than 256,000 fans.

There’s a growing trend of cross-eyed pets on social media that are melting the hearts of animal lovers everywhere. Among these adorable creatures is Belarus, a rescue cat from San Francisco who has gained a large following online. Despite having strabismus, a condition that makes it difficult for him to align his eyes simultaneously, Belarus has captured the hearts of many with his unique appearance. Adopted by Rachel Krall in 2018 after she saw a post about him on SFACC’s social media, Belarus now has over 256,000 followers on Instagram thanks to his loving owner. If you’re looking for a cute and quirky addition to your feed, Belarus is definitely worth a follow.

Belarus, the adorable cross-eyed cat, not only shares his photos on Instagram but also promotes merchandise to support animal shelters in San Francisco. His owner, Krall, donates all the proceeds from the merchandise sales to various shelters, including Belarus’ former home, SFACC. In the last year, they have donated $6,000, with $4,000 going to SFACC, $1,000 to Sonoma Community Animal Response Team, and $1,000 to Cat Town of Oakland. Although Krall had initially pledged to donate 50% of the profits, she ended up contributing 100% of the earnings to the shelter.

Brodie, a dog with a “wonky” face, has finally found a new home after being returned to the shelter by his initial owners. Although his crossed eyes provide him with a unique appearance, they do not present any major vision issues or discomfort, as per the New York Post. Belarus enjoys typical cat activities such as playing games, eating food, and causing trouble. To keep up with his adventures, follow him on Instagram at @My_Boy_Belarus.
