Meet Pam Pam, the feline with incredibly captivating eyes that will leave you mesmerized. But be careful, staring at them for too long may make it difficult to look away! Her unique appearance comes from a condition known as heterochromia iridis. This abnormality in the iris causes one eye to have a different hue than the other. In some cases, segmental heterochromia can result in varying colors within the same eye. Heterochromia can occur due to genetic inheritance, mutation or inbreeding. Interestingly, some breeds of cats such as the Turkish Angora, consider this trait desirable and breeders work hard to maintain it. This inherited condition poses no harm and is also prevalent in humans and other animals. If you want to see more animals with this condition, check out this comprehensive list.
